News & Notices

Public Works crew will be out flushing the sewer collection system until further notice.

Please be advised that the District of Taylor Public Works crew will be out flushing the sewer collection system until further notice.

When crews are flushing in your area you may notice a surge of air and water agitation within your home as the cleaning nozzle goes past your property. If equipped, this would be a good time to check that your sewer back flow preventer is working properly, as it protects your home from sewer backups and also may be a condition of your home insurance.

Flushing removes accumulated solids that settle out such as sand and silt from the sewer mains and is a required maintenance process to ensure adequate drainage of sewer from all properties. If you have any questions about the flushing program, please contact the District of Taylor Public Works @ 250-789-3392. See Less

PRRD has been working on a Regional Solid Waste Management Plan

The PRRD has been working on a Regional Solid Waste Management plan to help address emerging local issues and manage waste in the safest and most-cost effective way possible. The public and First Nation communities are invited to join one of 16 virtual open houses from now until May 6 to learn what has been developed for the draft plan.
Each event will go over the strategies relating to waste diversion, energy recovery, illegal dumping and funding the solid waste system – while promoting reduce, reuse, and recycle. Don’t waste this opportunity to talk trash to us!
