Spirit of the Peace Pow Wow
What: The 6th Annual Spirit of the Peace Traditional Powwow.
When: Sunday June 17th – Tuesday June 19th, 2012
Where: District Ice Center in Taylor, BC (14km south of Fort St. John)
Who is invited: Absolutely EVERYONE!
Cost: Absolutely Free
Special items include Native Arts and Crafts vendors, Native cuisine, and as always an Elders Care Tent where all elders can enjoy good food, tea and company in the shade at no cost.
Our host drum this year is the Thundering Spirit Singers. We will also have a hand drum contest. Of course lots and lots of native dance which will include Traditional, Jingle, Fancy, Grass Dancing and 
so much more. Camping is available and bring your folding chairs so you can sit close to all the action. This year’s theme is –Empowering the Spirit of our Women - and we have a special honouring ceremony on Saturday along with honouring our Women. Sunday of course we will be honouring all the fathers for Father’s day and we will be announcing the winners of raffles that will be on going through out the weekend.
We will also have a free shuttle bus, taking people to and from the powwow from the co-op mall starting Sunday from 4:15 pm, 5:00 pm and then every 2 hours until 11:00 pm, continuing Monday, Noon, 1:00 pm and every 2 hours until 11 pm and again on Tuesday from Noon, 1:00 pm and every two hours until 5 pm. Thanks to School District #60 for generously donating the bus and driver as they have done every year.
