Tai Chi Sword Class - Intermediate level Tai Chi

Thursdays 10 – 11:15 a.m.
Tai Chi Sword class is designed to help the intermediate level student establish a strong foundation in the working principles involved in tai chi while using a sword. Using 5 Section tai chi sword routine as a base, each week students will be taught movements and exercises from the form that build into a moving sequence. The class focuses on posture, relaxation, balance and energy cultivation as the primary foundation for moving forward in tai chi sword.  A typical class usually consist of head to toe warm up exercises, tai chi sword technique practice, and 5 Section sword form instruction. Practice swords are available for first time students. 

Beginner Tai Chi for Health & Happiness

Mondays: 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
For beginners seeking an introduction to Tai Chi, and more experienced Tai Chi players.
New students will be introduced to the fundamental principles of Tai chi as they progress through learning the postures of the Tai Chi set of movements.
Tai Chi is a form of “moving meditation” practiced with slow, relaxed, and flowing movements.  The art is ideal for those seeking gentle rehabilitative exercises for reducing stress, and/or to study body mind awareness through calmness and focus.  It is a low impact exercise that emphasizes balance, grace, and fluidity of motion.
This class is for beginners who are willing to work at learning Tai Chi.  Experienced returning Tai Chi players will deepen their practice through the application of Tai Chi principles.  Each class starts with a 30 minute warm up session of stretching, balance work, body awareness and relaxation techniques.
Attend class once a week and practice a few minutes each day, and you too can enjoy the gift of better health and greater happiness through the ancient art of Tai Chi.

Gentle stretching and Balance Class

Thursdays: 10 – 10:30 a.m.
A 30-minute class of gentle stretching, breathing, body awareness and balance work. This is a very gentle and relaxing class designed to reduce stress, improve balance and concentration while promoting a feeling of well-being. No special clothing required and all exercises are done either in a standing position or from a chair, no mats or going to the floor.
