Currently there are two scheduled events for the Alaska Highway. Keep current by checking the Drive BC before heading out for the long weekend or summer vacation.

Highway 97 Both directions - Bridge Maintenance 27 km north of Junction with Highway 2, in Dawson Creek 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on Tue May 15. The road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic. Updated on Tue May 15 at 6:40 am. (ID# -34028)

Water levels for the Pine and Peace Rivers are expected to rise throughout the spring and early summer but should have a limited impact on park operations. Currents and rapids are going to be strong on all local rivers during spring run off so please be cautious when boating on all rivers within the area due to rising waters and strong winds expected within the region. Continue to watch the Environment Canada water monitoring website by clicking on the map icon (right) for real time river levels and discharge rates and check for highway updates on the Drive BC website before leaving Taylor.

No Air Quality or Wild Fire warnings are in effect for the Taylor / Fort St. John area at this time. However, it is extremely dry out there and the fire ranking is High so please keep all fires manageable.

Service between Taylor and Fort St John is available Monday to Friday. The bus leaves Fort St. John at 8:15 a.m. to pick-up in Taylor. The return trip to Taylor leaves Fort St. John at 3:00 p.m.

All residents are eligible to use the Taylor service for a  fare of $4.00 per passenger however priority will be given to those that have a disability that limits their access to conventional transit services without assistance. All trips must be booked in advance by calling 250-787-7433. Funding is shared between the City of Fort St John, Peace River Regional District, District of Taylor and BC Transit.
