We are very pleased to welcome you to Taylor’s very own Public Library! We have endeavored to put together services and a collection of items that will cover a broad range of interests. We invite you to come in and come often!

Inter Library Loans (ILS)

Want a book that we don’t have?  You can request to borrow it from another library in BC.

Until the new software is available that will enable us to have fully automated service, check with Sherry (in person or via phone or email) to see if we have the item.  If not, she will order it in for you and let you know when it arrives.

How do I get a Library card?

Library cards are free to all people who live in or own property with a mailing address in Taylor.  Please apply in person, with 2 pieces of identification. Identification must provide your name, signature and current address. Once your ‘Statement of Responsibility’ is signed, you will be issued a Library Card. Children under the age of 14 do not require proof of address, but must have the application form signed by a parent or legal guardian in the presence of a Library Official. Parents are responsible for activity on a child’s card who is under the age of 19. A parent or legal guardian must also sign approval for internet use for children under 16

What can I do with my Library card?

Your Library card entitles you to borrow all forms of eligible items (books, audio/video materials, periodicals, as well as use of our free internet service). The general borrowing period for books is 21 days. There are variances to the borrowing period for New Editions and other items.

Your Taylor Public Library card is also valid within the Peace Region including Chetwynd, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Hudson’s Hope, Fort Nelson, Tumbler Ridge and Pouce Coupe. Their local policies apply.

It will also be accepted as your Home Card within the province of BC, making you eligible for OneCard. Their local policies apply to this service.

Books, CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, for all ages and interests, from preschool to adult. We have 8000 items available for loan.

A children’s area, that is complete with child size furniture and an ‘I Spy’ table. 

A computer room, with 3 computer stations for free internet use, as well as reference items. 

A room with our adult fiction collection which contains classics as well as many new and up to date titles. 

A room containing our non fiction, newspaper and magazine collections, complete with a comfy reading chair and a study table.
