Recreation Services - Taylor Instructional Swimming Pool

For the months of May through August, the Recreation Complex becomes the Taylor Instructional Swimming Pool. A portable 25-metre pool, one metre (three feet) in-depth offers leisure opportunities for the entire family.

Red Cross lessons extend from the pre-school "Introduction to Water" level, to the advanced level 12 in the Aqua Quest program. The pre-school lessons include parent involvement in the water. The Aqua Quest program focuses on water safety, stroke correction and emergency situations. The fees charged for both instruction and public swims are very reasonable and all instructors and guards are industry certified. Each set of Red Cross Lessons runs for two weeks. Registrations takes place at the pool and please remember that lessons can fill up quite quickly.

While the pool has an excellent and affordable Red Cross Instruction Program, it also offers public and family swimming, adult and pre-school lessons, water aerobics and special events. You can even rent the whole facility for birthday parties for a very low price. The pool, on average, is open 9:00am – 9:00pm from Monday to Friday and in the afternoons on Saturday and Sunday.
