Welcome to the new Fire Chief
The District of Taylor Welcomes New Fire Chief Edward Albury
Tuesday January 5th, 2016 – The District of Taylor Council and staff would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Fire Chief, Mr. Edward Albury.
Edward was born and raised in the Bahamas spending most of his time in Freeport Grand Bahamas. During high school, his family relocated to Vancouver Island setting down in Mill Bay, British Columbia.
As a young adult, Edward joined the Mill Bay Fire Department while also working as a mechanic. Throughout his time with the Mill Bay Fire Department he worked his way through the Fire Department ranks. He became Captain and Training officer and also received his twenty year medal with the department – an honor he considers to be an exciting part of his contribution to the Mill Bay fire department and the community.
Edward’s love and passion for the fire department extended through his employment as an industrial firefighter. Through continuous training, Edward says it can be scary, fun and exciting but industrial firefighting was a component to his career that has been very rewarding.
With Edward being in his twenty-fourth year of service, it is with great pleasure he joins the District of Taylor as Fire Chief on February 1st, 2016.
“I look forward to becoming part of the Taylor family”, says Edward, “and I will do my best to make the department and town proud”.
“This is an important position for our community. Edward’s experience and qualifications will be instrumental in leading the fire department. We look forward to him joining our team.” - Charlette McLeod, CAO.
