Our Clinic

Located in the North Peace, the District of Taylor is situated on the Peace River 18 kilometers south of Fort St. John on the world famous Alaska Highway. The community has a population of approximately 1400 and contains a variety of award winning family oriented recreation facilities. In its 2006 Citizen Survey, Taylor resident's highlighted quality of life, scenery, quiet, safe & friendly community, excellent District services and other similar as why they like Taylor.

The Clinic is seeking a Family Practitioner [General Medicine] to begin immediately. Hours of work are categorized as ‘regular’, with no requirement for on-call service.

The District of Taylor will guarantee a salary to the physician receiving all fees generated and cover all overhead costs or the GP can bill fee-for-service directly. The District of Taylor will cover the costs of land maintenance and building utilities, leaving the staff and daily operational requirements the responsibility of the physician. However, this is negotiable between the District of Taylor and the physician.

If the physician elects a fee-for-service structure, the physician will be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: approximately 27% Retention Premium, Retention Flat Fee if guaranteed income through District of Taylor these will be part of the recoverables for the District.

Other benefits include a $10,000 signing bonus as well as up to $15,000 relocation expenses (not part of the recoverables for the city).

The clinic / Physician's office is a completely renovated residence that has been converted to a beautiful, spacious, well laid-out and centrally located facility, while maintaining a comfortable home like character. The layout includes a spacious waiting area, spacious nurses/reception area, washroom with full access for those with disabilities, and 3 examination rooms. The exterior has been nicely developed to include numerous flower and shrub beds, trees, a common sitting area with park benches, and a large paved parking lot. The medical clinic is also adjoined to the community library.

Physician’s Home

An 1,800 sq. foot bungalow/rancher style home has been set aside the incoming physician. The home has an open floor plan and is nicely configured with a living room, family room, spacious kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 21/2 bathrooms, and a laundry room. All appliances are included. The home sits on 2 acres of land and is located in a semi-rural setting, approximately 2 kilometeres south of town centre. There is plenty of opportunity for gardening, children’s play area, and other outdoor activities.
