The District of Taylor is a small community, located on Mile 36 of the Alaska Highway, in northeastern British Columbia, Canada. It is situated 56 km (36 miles) north of Dawson Creek and 18 km (10 miles) south of Fort St John, in a scenic valley, located along the mighty Peace River.
This broad plane 200 feet above the Peace River has been home to Taylor and it’s settlers since the early 1900’s. With fertile soil, local gardens provide a variety of fruits and vegetables.
The District of Taylor traditionally experiences a northern continental climate with cool short summers and long cold winters. However, Taylor experiences more frost-free days than most areas in the Peace due to its location in the valley and it’s proximity to the Peace River.
